Pond Lehocky Partner Thomas J. Giordano Jr. has been named to the board of directors of the Lupus Foundation of America. He was voted to the board unanimously by the current directors.
Giordano has dedicated his career to assisting disabled Americans. He leads Pond Lehocky Disability, the firm’s nationwide Social Security and disability insurance arm. The department has represented tens of thousands of disabled individuals in all 50 states.
“Lupus impacted my family when I was very young.” Giordano said. “Since I started practicing Social Security disability, I have always found myself drawn to those clients who are suffering from lupus and felt a responsibility to do everything I can to assist them.”
Lupus is an autoimmune disease that causes the body’s immune system attack a person’s own tissues and organs. The Lupus Foundation of America is the only national organization devoted to solving the mystery of lupus. Giordano has frequently participated in speaking engagements for the foundation, discussing the rights that those suffering from the disease have.
“I have been honored to help educate members of the Lupus Foundation about their disability rights for the past few years and now, by joining the board, I hope to expand those efforts throughout the tri state area and beyond,” Giordano said.
Giordano’s appointment to the Lupus Foundation board falls in line with Pond Lehocky’s mission community engagement. The firm understands that fighting for the hard-working members of its community is a privilege. With that privilege, comes a professional and moral duty to give back to the community.
Giordano has previously served on the board of directors of the Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania. A graduate of Rutgers University School of Law – Camden, Giordano is a founding partner of Pond Lehocky. He currently serves as the chair of the Social Security Disability Committee of the American Association of Justice and as the co-chair of the Social Security Disability section of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
