Nathalie B. Martelly Blagman received her bachelor’s degree in political science from Brooklyn College and graduated from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center.
Ms. Martelly Blagman began her law career as an intern for a union’s legal services department in New York where she provided free legal services regarding housing, landlord-tenant law, and bankruptcy matters. She was a legal extern for the Honorable Joseph Charles, Jr., in the New Jersey Superior Court, where she conducted research and drafted memoranda related to family law. Ms. Martelly Blagman also interned for the Legal Aid Society’s criminal division, the organization’s largest sector, which offers free legal aid to those who cannot afford private counsel.
As her career developed, Ms. Martelly Blagman began to focus her practice on assisting disabled Americans as a senior disability advocate for a national Social Security disability advocacy group. She successfully represented hundreds of Social Security disability claimants at administrative law hearings and personalized her trial strategy to each client’s needs, despite a high-volume caseload. Additionally, she is a member of the American Association for Justice.
Before joining Disability Justice, Ms. Martelly Blagman was a Social Security disability attorney for a full-service New York law firm. In addition to representing clients in court, she held a supervisory role and trained attorneys and staff in the Social Security disability department.
